Ingredients

1 cup unsalted
butter, at room temperature

4 large eggs, at
room temperature
2 teaspoons
vanilla extract
1 cup whole milk
1 cup rainbow sprinkles
Frosting Ingredients
1 cup unsalted
butter, at room temperature
4 cups powdered
sugar
1/4 cup heavy
cream
2 teaspoons
vanilla extract
1/2 cup rainbow
sprinkles
Instructions
1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch
round cake pans with butter or cooking spray.
2.In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder,
baking soda, and salt.
3.In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the
butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
4.Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each
addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
5.Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture,
alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix
until just combined.
6.Fold in the rainbow sprinkles.
7.Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and
bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake
comes out clean.
8.Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then
remove them from the pans and place them on a wire rack to cool completely.
To make the frosting, beat the butter in a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer until creamy.
1.Gradually add the powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, mixing
well after each addition.
2.Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract and beat until
smooth and creamy.
3.Fold in the rainbow sprinkles.
4.Once the cakes are completely cooled, spread a layer of
frosting on top of one cake layer, then place the other cake layer on top.
5.Spread the remaining frosting over the top and sides of
the cake.
6.Decorate the top of the cake with additional rainbow
sprinkles.
