Zesty Lemon Cake Recipe - The Perfect Combination of Tart and Sweet

Howdy foodies! Today, I'm sharing with you a unique and delicious recipe for lemon cake that is sure to impress your taste buds. This cake is light, fluffy, and bursting with tangy lemon flavor. 


Here's how to make it:
Ingredients
  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
  • Lemon glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Add half of the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until just combined. Add the buttermilk, lemon juice, and lemon zest, and mix until well combined. Add the remaining flour mixture and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
